I Love Coke

h&m cardigan & jeans, coca-cola t-shirt, alice & olivia for payless platforms

Spent the day in Berkeley and had an amazing lunch (lobster tomato bisque, grilled ham & cheese and steamed clams).

I just love vintage t-shirts and old Coca-Cola advertisements. Sometimes I'm convinced I'm living in the wrong era. Something about vintage advertising makes me feel at ease. It makes me imagine a simpler time when a woman never had to open her own door. A time when the men were men and the women were ladies. Perhaps those glimpses from the past reminds me of what I desire most: a simple kind of life.

All The Flowers.

etsy earrings, h&m scarf, zara blazer, rogan for target tank top, gap 1969 high waisted jeans, aldo bag, jessica simpson platforms, f21 / h&m / ysl rings, urban outfitters belt

I finally had the opportunity to visit the De Young museum in San Francisco to see the Balenciaga exhibit (sorry, no cameras allowed...drat!).

After the museum, P and I walked a whole twenty blocks (not really, but felt like it...especially in six inch platforms. But hey, beauty before function, so I'm not really complaining) to the Conservatory of Flowers and saw the Wicked Plants exhibit. We learned how, if consumed, some plants will not take it's poisonous effect until much later.  Funny how something so visually appealing can slowly kill you. But some of us already knew that (zing!).

An afternoon of couture and flowers can (usually) be enough to cheer any girl up.

I had a really nice tea time at Lovejoy's Tea Room, my favorite tea place. Actually, the only tea place I've ever been to. I enjoy it there so much, I'm a little too scared I'll be too disappointed to try another place. It feels so much like having tea at my grandma's house, if my grandma served tea.

purple eyes...and not from being punched

can you be the star to my stripes?

h&m striped blazer, f21 neon burnout shirt, mossimo pants, sam edelman booties, untagged necklace
Impromptu stop at a newly renovated rest stop near my house. Luckily we avoided any rest stop "lurkers". Besides, it was too early. Everyone knows they don't show up until the sun fully sets. Like vampires.

Took a short road trip to Disneyland this past weekend. I was reminded how much I love Disneyland when I arrived.

I made sure I bought a new memory card and an extra battery for the new point and shoot I bought specifically for vacations. I looked into my purse and realized that I forgot my camera at the hotel. Thank goodness for iPhones and the decent quality of photos they take.

The park closed early (the luck!) because the world premier of The Pirates of the Caribbean was taking place later that evening. No worries, we hopped over to California Adventure and spent the rest of day there.

Sigh. Quite sad to be home and return to real life. Whatever real life really is.

we're hella classy

I had the pleasure of visiting a very good friend of mine that I haven't seen in so long. We went to one of our usual spots, Lovejoy's Tea Room in San Francisco. I can't think of anything more dignified than traditional tea service. Then they allow someone like me in and it all goes out the window. I can't think of a better place to discuss new technology in ball gags and reach arounds. C'mon. I'm kidding.

just because we're (always) hungry

I write about it all the time. You finally get to see it. That ramen haunts my dreams.

too fine to be 29...

I like my steak like I like my men....hella rare.
the not-so-money shot

I celebrated my birthday on Saturday with a few close friends family.

A gentleman (or not) from the next table over sent me a (rather large) shot of some kind of Brazilian fermented something-or-other. Never in my life have I ever heard "the gentleman at the next table has sent you this". I thought that only happened on Sex And The City...or in Beyonce songs. Although I appreciated the gesture, it did mess me up. And not in a good way.

It's funny, when you're in your early 20s and you have a birthday, you don't really pay attention to the age approaching. All you really think about is "Where the party (pronounced 'porty') at"? Then all of a sudden, your 25th year kicks you in the crotch and you nosedive into 'late twenties'. With every passing year, you (or at least I) take inventory of lack of "life milestones" missing. I must admit, this year was no different...at first anyway. Then I realized, I'm blessed with so many second chances. I'm finally realizing what I'm truly worth and not because someone in my life "told me so". I find myself not needing the validation I've always needed from someone else. I'm realizing that I'm enough. I'm not obligated to anyone who doesn't deserve me...and THAT my friends, was the MOST valuable thing I've learned this year...and the hardest. I'm both excited and nervous to see what my life has in store for me because, valuable lesson number two, you never know what can happen.

Also, according to my friend C, Jay-Z says that 30s is the new 20s. I suppose that would make me a (late) teenager...

gray and gloomy

f21 quilted faux fur jacket/jeans/shoes, h&m lace robe, silence & noise dress
Ate lunch with my friend at this Indian restaurant with the worst music ever--if you can even call chanting blasting from muffled, rattled speakers from the 80's music. Stopped for a sec to snap some photos. Just a quick second though, the people were freaking us out.
