This was an unexpectedly awesome day. I Was supposed to head to "the city" to return something, but ended up changing my mind. We ended up at a deserted naval shipyard. We took advantage of the amazing background....but we were a bit spooked. What? There could be ghosts and stuff. And frogs...

Talk about lazy Sunday. I'm not much of a football fan. I can't tell you how many times I've had the game explained to me, only to (very sheepishly) respond: "I don't get it." Luckily a friend of mine called me last minute for some (decaf) coffee and dessert. I only had a few minutes to choose my outfit. That's what I came up with. Random (I'm pretty sure it's true) fact: The Monday after Superbowl Sunday has the highest "call in sick" rates than any other day of the year. Can someone Google that? I'm too lazy.

Much like the rest of the world, I needed a break. That's exactly what I got today. A friend of mine suggested we have breakfast brunch at a neighboring city town that she used to live in a lifetime ago. Not exactly my first choice of venue; it's quite honestly a little too townie ....ummmm....(insert polite synonym for 'townie') for me, however, I definitely needed a change, and so I just smiled and nodded. Plus, she was driving. We took a short walk along the water while dodging some very aggressive seagulls (and dodging some strange looks from a bunch of closed-minded townies locals). I'm sorry, I shouldn't be so judgy--I blame the shoes. From what I did see, it was quite lovely. It was just what I needed...
